Portrait of Shikha Duggal, creator of The Adapt Again System™

Shikha Duggal is an enterprise transformation leader with more than 12 years of experience working at the intersection of strategy, technology, operations and organizational change.

Her career has spanned transformation leadership, consulting, program and portfolio management, and complex product and technology delivery. She has worked across financial services and fintech, technology, digital security and telecommunications, both from within organizations and as a transformation consultant.

That breadth has given Shikha a view of transformation from multiple vantage points: how change is shaped at the leadership level, translated through operating models and governance, and ultimately experienced by the people responsible for making it work.

Over the course of her career, she has led multi-year enterprise transformations, complex global technology programs and large-scale changes to how organizations work. She has established transformation structures and Centers of Excellence, redesigned governance and portfolio practices, led programs spanning more than 150 people and multiple teams, and coached and advised across organizational levels, from practitioners and delivery leaders to senior executives.

As Director of Enterprise Agile Delivery at Manulife, Shikha led a multi-year transformation to new ways of working across multiple business units, establishing operating structures, portfolio practices, governance, measurement systems and internal capability. Her broader transformation and consulting experience spans organizations including TD Bank, FIS Global, Thales, Bell, FLEETCOR and Grubhub, exposing her to different organizational structures, technologies, operating environments and transformation challenges.

That combination of enterprise leadership and hands-on transformation experience has shaped Shikha's practitioner perspective on a question that extends beyond the success of any individual transformation:

What capability does the organization retain when the transformation itself is over?

Shikha is a certified SAFe® 6 Practice Consultant (SPC) and holds a Master of Science in Technology from Purdue University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from the University of Pune.

How this work began

The Adapt Again System™ grew from a question that persisted across years of transformation work:

Why do organizations repeatedly invest in transformation, solve meaningful problems and create useful improvements, yet still find themselves rebuilding much of their ability to change when the next disruption arrives?

That question shifted the inquiry beyond whether an individual transformation had succeeded.

What remains after the transformation?

Do the lessons travel?

Can other teams use what was learned?

Can the organization sustain the improvement beyond the people who originally drove it?

And when conditions change again, is the organization actually more capable of adapting than it was before?

Or does the next major change require another concentrated transformation effort to mobilize many of the same capabilities again?

What began as a practitioner question became a deeper research effort.

Shikha began looking retrospectively across transformation experiences, examining recurring organizational patterns and exploring what distinguishes an improvement that works locally from learning that becomes part of how an organization operates, decides and adapts.

The inquiry expanded through existing research and literature and through conversations, observations, cases and contradictions from other practitioners.

That work became The Adapt Again System™, a practitioner-developed framework for building Transformation Capability.

It explores a different horizon of transformation: whether today's improvements and transformation experiences leave the organization with a greater ability to adapt again tomorrow.

The goal is not continuous transformation. It is continuous capability.

The framework continues to evolve through research and practitioner inquiry, including evidence that supports its propositions, evidence that challenges them and circumstances that reveal where its boundaries may lie.
